According to the 2020 studies by the Renewable Energy Center in Taiwan, the installation target of 2.2GW in Taiwan is not feasible. Aside from the corona pandemic, the scarcity of land and capacity, the changes in government policies, and influences from third party activist groups halted the development of Taiwan’s solar market for much of 2020. Moreover, with the problems unresolved, the target to install 20GW of renewable energy in Taiwan by 2025 is a long shot.
